Devlog 09: The end of Gregg 02


Hello and welcome again to our weekly devlog. This week we have finally reached the end of the second production sprint. 

Art

UI

In the art department we have concentrated nearly fully on finishing the missing UI elements for our game and polishing those we already had. 

To make the UI look as unified as possible we have developed and designed somewhat of a procedural approach which could be applied nearly to anything necessary. 


We have also a brand new logo and updated life bar.


Level

In the level itself we had a slight redesign as we were concerned for the readability of the scene and the contrast between the foreground and the background of the level.


Programming 

This week we have linked all but one of the sounds to their corresponding events including background music, many others were already linked last week..

Secondly, we made color changing work properly, with changing colors in both directions, not being able to select the same color and changing the player outline shader along with the player color. 

Furthermore we made the character bigger so that all can enjoy its beauty and linked the kill effect which will need some further tweaking in the polish stage.

We have also updated and changed the visuals for the pickups and made them larger.

Also  a visual indicator was added above the player's head indicating which powerup they have. So now they can see that above their player and in the UI.

End screen was added  where the points are shown from high to low with the color of the player next to it.

we also made it possible for the players to move while in the join screen so they can get familiar with the controls. There was also a bug that the players didn't respawn with the correct color which is now fixed.
