Devlog 05: Raising Greg
Hello, Hello hello again and welcome back to our devlog ! We know you have not heard of us for a while and that's for a good reason we had vacations and took quite a few days off. BUT we're back now in full force to get back at it, so let's begin !!!
ART
Animations !!!
Last week we introduced Greg( name might still be a topic change ), the beloved charcter of our game. Back then he was something of a toddler u know he didn't do much just stood there on the character design page and stared at us.
Now however he is able to stand on his own two feet like nothing. The first two steps he took were his idle and running cycles. Just check them out :
These two might frankly look a bit simple however the road to making them was slightly more complicated than originally thought as our 2D animation skills up to this point were quite “shallow” and much time was spent on actually learning how to animate properly.
But it should be only downhill from here on right ? Next week hopefully our character should be fully animated.
We've also managed to get some really cool PBR effects on our character by using Laigter. Thanks to this we can have nice dynamic lighting on our character.
Level
Last week we got some really useful feedback for our level blockout, we've applied it made some addition props and it's starting to look quite good
VFX
We made a few VFX animations and created some brand new aiming arrow for the grapple hook UI .

PROGRAMMING
