Devlog 07: Here we go Gregging again



 Hello, and welcome back to weekly devlog ! Last week we finished the first  production sprint of our game.

Art 

Character Animations

On the animation front this week we have concentrated our efforts on Expanding and polishing and slightly reworking the animations we already have.We are concretely speaking of Attack and Idle animations.

The Idle animation was reworked from scratch as its original could be considered more of a test that did not hold up to our current standards.

When it comes to attack animation we have expanded it by adding directionality to the attacks that means that when the player aims up the character will also punch up not just straight ahead as it was now.

We have also started preparing some brand new animations and sprites. Those are not ready to be revealed yet so stay tuned.

VFX

In VFX we have some brand new effects for our attacks and grapple hook hitting the environment like walls or floors.

We have also improved some older effects like jum or stun and added a rotability to them.

Level

When it comes to the level itself we have created planks to make the foreground less blocky. Then some minor tweaks to the environments.

Also a crane was made so certain objects can be excluded.


Programming

Code

On the programming front we have worked on the code that allows the players to switch between colors before the start of the game. It still needs a bit of work tho.

Sound

We have also made some research in terms of sound for the grapple.

Power ups

We have implemented the powerups for slow field, health and protective shield.
